\u201cFor the first time in a long while, I just sat down and breathed. And I was finally able to say that I\u2019m scared. And someone listened and supported me!\u201d<\/em> \u2013 shared one of the participants.<\/p>\n\n

The war has changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians. Some were forced to evacuate, others lost their homes, and many endured occupation or continue living in communities where danger is a daily reality. In such moments, it is especially important to know that you are not alone \u2014 that there is a place where you will be understood, supported, and helped to find inner peace.<\/p>\n\n

Such a place for residents of the Kherson region has become the \u201cCare Space,\u201d where children and adults can receive psychosocial support. There are always people nearby who will listen, provide comfort, and help you better understand yourself and your emotions.<\/p>\n\n

Our meetings are a time and space to pause, feel safe, and reconnect with yourself. They help participants manage emotions, reduce stress, recognize and express feelings. Through creativity, movement, communication, and being among those who understand, participants gradually regain inner balance and a sense of stability.<\/p>\n\n

In this environment, everyone can simply be \u2014 at their own pace, without pressure or expectations. The rooms offer a calm atmosphere, colorful materials for creative work, warm blankets, and spaces for play or conversation. Some find comfort in drawing or crafting, others prefer to talk, while some just want to sit quietly nearby.<\/p>\n\n

The \u201cCare Space\u201d operates in Kherson, as well as in the Borozenska, Kalynivska, Velykooleksandrivska, and Beryslav communities. Sessions can take different formats \u2014 group or individual. Some people prefer being among others, while others feel more comfortable meeting one-on-one \u2014 even at home, if that\u2019s where they feel safest and most at ease.<\/p>\n\n

The work takes into account the context of each community. Sessions take place in a caring, inclusive environment based on mutual understanding and respect. For many, the \u201cCare Space\u201d becomes the first step toward recovery. Taking that first step is not always easy \u2014 but there are always people nearby who are ready to help.<\/p>\n\n
