Project “Strengthening the Resilience and Well-Being of Women and Girls Affected by the War in Ukraine”

“Posmishka UA” is implementing a new project aimed at supporting women and girls who have been affected by the war and by gender-based violence.

We have created a safe space where everyone can receive the support they need.

Our services include:

• psychosocial support;
• legal consultations;
• access to “Posmishka” spaces;
• outreach of mobile teams, including visits to remote communities;
• targeted financial assistance in individual cases;
• referrals to specialized services responding to gender-based violence;
• support for crisis rooms for survivors of gender-based violence.

All services are provided free of charge, with respect for the safety, dignity, and confidentiality of every person. Assistance is available to women, girls, and boys under the age of 14.

Within the framework of the project, “Posmishka” spaces operate in Sumy and Kharkiv. Our mobile teams also carry out outreach activities in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

The project aims not only to improve the mental health and well-being of women and girls who have been affected by or witnessed war-related violence, but also to strengthen access to prevention and response services for gender-based violence by reinforcing systems, capacities, awareness, and the engagement of communities and stakeholders. Therefore, an important component of the project is our cooperation with the Coordination Center for Victims and Witnesses Support under the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Everyone should know that they are not alone and that there is always someone they can turn to for help.

The project “Strengthening the Resilience and Well-Being of Women and Girls Affected by the War in Ukraine” is implemented by the NGO “Divchata” and the Charitable Foundation “Posmishka UA” in cooperation with the international non-governmental organization Plan International, with financial support from the Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS) of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
