Let’s talk about victim blaming
Have you ever stopped to think about what people mean when they say, “It’s her own fault”?
When responsibility for violence is shifted onto the person who experienced it, this is called victim blaming. Fear of judgment and blame often prevents people who have experienced violence from speaking about what happened to them or seeking support.
It is important to remember: violence is always the responsibility of the perpetrator. No words, clothing, behavior, or circumstances can ever justify it.
In this video, we explain what victim blaming is, why it causes additional harm, and how support can help a person take the first step toward safety.
Watch the video and share it with others — together, we can build a culture of support instead of judgment.
We are especially grateful that well-known Ukrainian actresses joined this campaign, helping raise awareness of issues that need to be discussed openly. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Oksana Voskanyan for her participation in this video.
